Last night’s Academy Awards red carpet was one of the more interesting in the last few years. Where Old Hollywood glamour was the priority in the past, this year, actresses were more sexy and alluring with their gown choices and James has the scoop exclusively for Glamour Magazine. Check out all of James’s picks here.
James has been working for Circle + Square for a few months now on themed curated collections based on the inventory in their store. He loves it but this month when asked to curate a Fifty Shades inspired collection, it was a challenge.
“Everyone who knows me knows that I’m not the most romantic and physical kind of person. HA! Relationships aren’t really my thing,” says James.
Well we think he did a fabulous job, and we think you will too. Check out his special selects here just in time for some last minute Valentine’s Day gifts and the premiere of Fifty Shades of Grey in theaters tonight.
Of the fashion shows that take place all over the world, The Haute Couture week in Paris is the most coveted. James writes, and we agree, that Haute Couture is fashion fantasy in the truest sense of the word. That’s why when he was tapped by Glamour Magazine to write about the shows in Paris, we were uber-excited for him. This isn’t his first time covering the Haute Couture shows, but “each time feels like the first time,” James laughs and adds, “you always remember your first.”
Cheers to our fearless leader for publishing another story in Glamour Magazine and for every time feeling like the first time. If you want to read James’s commentary, check it out here.
With the men’s collections concluding James was tapped by Conde Nast International to do a trend report for GQ Magazine – South Africa. He had the privilege of reviewing the Paris shows for the magazine. This was an important assignment for James, and one that he did not take lightly, especially after the tragedies of the last two weeks in Paris. Check out James’s full coverage here.
With one major award show down (last night’s Golden Globes), and many more to go, Glamour Magazine tapped James to compile a list of his best dressed from the night. There were some stunners and some that left James feeling like he’d just stepped on to the set of “The Hours.” Either way, his list was published and people are already talking about some of his selections. Do you agree with his choices? Check out the list here.
AWARDS SEASON (all caps because it’s kind of a big deal), is a huge time of the year for James. Between styling, writing, and some commentary, he’s always busy. It doesn’t help that the fall collections (Fashion Month) always take place in the middle of everything either. Alas, James was asked by popular online hub Circle + Square to curate from their impressive inventory, a list of clutches to go with any red carpet look during Awards Season. The result is some pretty awesome pieces by amazing talents in the industry. Check them out here.
When James isn’t styling, he’s probably writing. When he isn’t writing… you guessed it, he’s probably styling. These things go hand in hand for the double threat. We personally don’t know how he does it but he does. That’s why we are uber-proud of him for publishing new commentary on the Pre-Fall 2015 collections.
Dorian Magazine, the self-proclaimed first international high-fashion gay magazine tapped our favorite stylist to style an editorial around New York and knitwear for their Winter 2014/15 issue. The photos were amazing due to the fabulous photography from Brooklyn-based Scott Jung. Of course Italian heartthrob and Milan movie star Emanuel was the perfect model for the day and made shooting easier.
We’ve been working quietly in the background with our fearless leader to curate some of the most fabulous fashion for the holiday season. James most recently, had the opportunity to style a film and editorial around the idea of cheating in the 40s. Using New York and French designers, James, Scott Jung, and Scott Brasher, created an epic storyline with fashion as the big star. The film premiered on Creem Magazine’s website.
